Papa Francisco!!!

POPE FRANCIS, THE POPE OF 'FIRSTS'.

POPE FRANCIS, THE POPE OF ‘FIRSTS’.

A sense of excitement tinged with a little anxiety. This is what I felt  while waiting to hear the good news! Our Papa seemed a little overwhelmed and taken aback at first, but as soon as he started speaking, he had a air of complete assurance and confidence. His warm smile immediately stole my heart,as I’m sure it did for the millions watching all over the globe.

My thoughts as our new Pope was introduced:

  1. Pope Francis:- simple, humble, sincere, trustworthy, dedicated, passionate, servant of the servants. The immediate adjectives which sprang to mind as I thought of St. Francis.
  2. Speaking with ease…
  3. Then, bowing to be prayed for by the people!!! Just wonderful. Wonderful!
  4. Orthodox too!!!!! An added bonus.

I feel good things are yet to come. Thank God for Pope Francis!

His first words after his election,’ As you know the duty of the conclave is to give Rome a bishop. It seems that my brother cardinals went almost to the end of the world’. I like this sense of humour.

  1. When I first saw Pope Francis I could tell that he is very humble, sincere, and trustworthy. After learning a bit more about him I totally agree with your other words describing him. The fact that he is Orthodox is wonderful. Sending many prayers to the new Pontiff. God Bless.
