Loving Mother of the Redeemer,
gate of heaven,
star of the sea,
assist your people who have fallen yet strive to rise again.
To the wonderment of nature you bore your Creator,
yet remained a virgin after as before.
You who received Gabriel’s joyful greeting,
have pity on us poor sinners.
Amen.

Reclaiming the Sacred
/ January 3, 2014Wow, that imagery is gorgeous! It is like Duccio met Giotto at a conference hosted by the Lorenzetti brothers, and they all got together with a couple of pre-Raphaelites who had somehow traveled back in time, grabbed Maxfield Parrish from the future as well, and decided to make a painting that could be beamed up to the internet. Nice! 🙂
