- “In her voyage across the ocean of this world, the Church is like a great ship being pounded by the waves of life’s different stresses. Our duty is not to abandon ship but to keep her on her course.” St. Boniface

- “From the age of fifteen, dogma has been the fundamental principle of my religion: I know no other religion; I cannot enter into the idea of any other sort of religion; religion, as a mere sentiment, is to me a dream and a mockery.” Blessed John Henry Newman.

/ July 15, 2014Hi Mary, in no way is the Catholic dogma in conflict with serving the poor. In fact it is precisely what Catholic social teaching is all about. Pope Francis is living the Catholic Faith literally….as no other pontiff has done before. He has broken with the pomp and ceremony with regard to the traditions at the Vatican, and he is showing the world what it is to live a Catholic life. This happens every minute of every day in every part of the world through the selfless work of dedicated Catholic Christians , it’s just never been put on the world stage before in the way that Papa Francesco is demonstrating.
